Mario Balotelli Has Four Months to Save His Liverpool Career
Mario Balotelli has just four months left to save his Liverpool career from being written off as a complete disaster. Brendan Rodgers won’t sell the Italian striker this month, but won’t hesitate to wield the axe in summer if things don’t improve, reports the Daily Mirror.
The 24-year-old has significantly underwhelmed since completing a summer move from AC Milan. In 18 Liverpool appearances he has managed just 2 goals, neither of which came in the Premier League.
Balotelli doesn’t seem to fit into the club’s style of play and his attitude and lazy demeanour have been called into question.
Speaking about the player’s immediate future, Rodgers tried to play down his lack of impact, explaining, “He does want to stay. I think that is the case with him. He does care about doing well for Liverpool and wants to do well, but it just hasn’t gone as he would have wanted.
“He’s a good guy. He’s not scored the goals he would have wanted, but we are determined to help him find a solution.”
Earlier this week, Balotelli’s former manager and mentor Roberto Mancini said, “I hope that he wakes up one morning and realises that he is wasting everything.”
