West Ham will have to pay £10m if they wish to sign Arsenal loanee Carl Jenkinson on a permanent basis, according to the Mail.

The 23-year-old has impressed during a season-long stay at Upton Park and Hammers co-chairman David Gold has already confirmed his intention to tie him down long term.

Jenkinson's parent club are understood to value him in excess of £10m, which could scupper West Ham's plans.

However, the emergence of Hector Bellerin this season has further hampered the right-back's Emirates Stadium prospects.

His long-term future was already under threat following the additions of Calum Chambers and Mathieu Debuchy last summer.

Jenkinson is ineligible to face the Gunners in the league this weekend, with Gold telling a fan on Twitter: "He will not play against Arsenal. This year."
