Lukas Podolski Fires Another Shot at Arsene Wenger After Arsenal Departure
Indeed, Podolski hit 19 goals in 60 appearances for the club, and while he insists he has no problem with Wenger the player admits he was puzzled.
He told Bild: ”I never had a problem with Wenger… much has been hyped up. And the only thing I have criticised was that he did not wish me good luck in Milan.
“Why this [Wenger not playing him regularly] was so, he alone knows. After the World Cup in summer he still said how important I was for him. When I played, I performed. Statistics do not lie.
“The responsibility for preparation is the sole responsibility of the coach. So he must know why I barely got a chance. Then I had to find a solution, and it was Inter. The club is still one of the top ten in the world.”
Inter forward Lukas Podolski has criticised Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger for his decision not to play him this season, before his departure from the Emirates.
The German joined Inter on loan with a view to buy at the start of the January transfer window, after failing to start a single match in the Premier League in 2014/15. Podolski insisted that his scoring record of nearly one in three for the club was proof that he should have been given more chances, but he is unsure why Wenger was so reluctant to play him.
