Porsche takes the wraps off the latest version of its 919 Hybrid LMP1 as it prepares an intensive testing programme for the 2015 Le Mans 24 Hours and WEC.

Porsche has offered a first glimpse at its 2015-specification Porsche 919 Hybrid after giving it a shakedown during a private test in Germany.
The firm returned to premier sportscar competition in 2014 with the much anticipated 919 Hybrid, picking up its first win at the season finale in Brazil in the hands of Marc Lieb, Neel Jani and Romain Dumas.
Though Porsche has given few specific details about alterations to the car, there are noticeable changes to the car’s front-end and nose, though the bodyframe appears relatively unchanged. It says the powertrain remains unchanged too, retaining the concept of a 2-litre V4 turbocharged petrol engine, an electric motor powering the front wheels, and two energy recovery systems.
The car was tested in Weissach before Christmas by Lieb but this is the first time the new 919 Hybrid has been seen publically. Porsche will now head to Yas Marina for a series of pre-season tests, as the manufacturer prepares to take on new champions Toyota, Le Mans winners Audi and newcomers Nissan in the 2015 World Endurance Championship and the blue riband Le Mans 24 Hours.
Porsche will feature an unchanged driver line-up across its two-car World Endurance Championship entry – Mark Webber, Brendon Hartley, Timo Bernhard, Jani, Dumas and Lieb -, with a third car to be entered for Spa 6 Hours and the Le Mans 24 Hours featuring F1 driver Nico Hulkenberg.
