Emmanuel Adebayor Issues First Team Football Plea to Mauricio Pochettino

Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor has pleaded for first team football on social media site Instagram, given he has not played for Tottenham since January.

Mail Online report that the Togolese striker accompanied a picture of himself with a cryptic message making reference to his current situation with the Spurs first team squad. It appears that his message is a direct one to manager Mauricio Pochettino, and comes as a plea to "try me".

He wrote: "When life puts you in tough situations. Don't say 'why me'. Just say 'try me'" - so it appears the former Arsenal striker is not giving up on his Spurs career just yet.

Adebayor nearly joined West Ham in January, but suggestions are that the club will release him in the summer at the end of his current contract.

The 31-year-old has scored just two goals all season and his last Premier League appearance came as a substitute against Sunderland on January 17th. Adebayor has been cast into the shadows at Tottenham given the outstanding emergence of Harry Kane this season.

Etienne Capoue and Younes Kaboul are thought to be two other players on the verge of a summer exit from White Hart Lane.
